Streets as Living Spaces: Crossroads of Past and Today
The Atlantic Institute West Columbia office had the privilege on March 22, 2016 of having John M. Sherrer, III, Director of Cultural Resources, Historic Columbia as the speaker for the dialogue night to gain insights on our city and how the past is connected to the modern age. He discussed how Columbia was the first planned city of the United States of America and that most of the streets at the time were named after resources and prominent people at the time. But later a lot of the names were changed. It was truly an enjoyable conversation and insightful presentation.
