Theme: Being Brave Enough To Lead: You Can If You Decide That You Will
November 28, 2018 - College of Charleston’s Alumni Center.
Thank you to the many amazing students and faculty that joined us for Charleston’s 2018 Future Leaders Dialogue Dinner! The event was held at The College of Charleston’s Alumni Center on November 28, 2018. This year’s theme was Being Brave Enough: You Can if You Decide that You Will. This event was an immense success that would not have been possible without the financial contributions from our sponsors and the many great perspectives that each person expressed over the course of the evening. Our sponsors were:
College of Charleston Higdon Leadership Center, College of Charleston Honors College, College of Charleston Office of Institutional Diversity, College of Charleston School of the Arts, College of Charleston School of Business-MBA Program, College of Charleston School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The Citadel Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics, The Citadel Summerall Chapel, The Citadel Department of Political Science, Trident Technical College
Dr. Jaye Goosby Smith was both entertaining and insightful as our MC for the evening. The inspiring words of Mr. Stuart Williams empowered each participant to seek out a better understanding of the current shift in technology and global culture; while embracing the innovator within and harnessing the humanity and passion that makes a leader brave enough to truly change the world. Mr. Williams emphasized that brave leaders who build for profit businesses that solve human problems can originate from any background and that in order sustain our planet for future generations we must focus on the 17 Goals for Transforming the World. At their individual tables, students discussed the qualities and daily practices that define Brave Leaders and worked together to create solutions to some of the greatest issues facing the world today.
